This photograph, taken c1926, shows Chummys being fitted out.
Note that there is no production line, just a load of trestles. One can only guess that the chassis and engines were on a line and that the bodies were picked up manually and placed on later as no lifting gear is apparent. Rob Hancox's grandfather, Leonard Hancox, is in the picture somewhere. Indeed his name was printed on the bottom, he was believed to be a foreman. Note also the two or three office girls looking over the balcony, they probably had just as much right to be in the picture, but had to sneak in.
